This is one of the new purchases…

And here’s another….

Finished and watched… May 9, 2012

I finished reading…

  Ceremony by Robert B. Parker

A classic Spenser story.

A girl goes missing, and seems to have ended up in the prostitution business.

Can Spenser find her? And what if she doesn’t want to leave?

————————

And watched…

 ”9″ by Tim Burton

year: 2009

A bit of a disappointment. I thought it would be a touching story about puppets, but it was more of an action movie. Hmmph.

————————————————

On another note:

I ordered no less than eight bags online the other day.

(yes, there is a very good reason: these bags are no longer made. I had to get them while they were still availabe. That’s right, I had to.)

Purchases! April 30, 2012

Lots of purchases today!

I got me some Sean Bean, Henry Fonda, Clint Eastwood, more Sean Bean,

And also:

some cute handkerchiefs, some paper, some clothing, and some knickknacks.

And my feet are tired…

Local market… April 1, 2012

I love local markets.

Local market April 1:

Very nice, all those stands with handmade items, such as bags, clothes, ukuleles, decorative art, and jewelry, but also cheese and pies and sandwiches and snacks and liqueurs.

(Sometimes you wish you were fond of something like liqueurs, just so that you could make a purchase. The bottles looked nice!)

There were also stands with flowers, bulbs, plants, and fruit, which were very popular, probably partly because it was really sunny.

I bought some bulbs and some cheese.

The only thing that was missing was a stand with lots of things made of paper…

;-)

Sale… December 7, 2011

Don´t you hate that:

You receive a message about an upcoming sale, with several interesting items listed…

You have made your choice, and ready to make a purchase…

That particular item, and also your choices B and C are all SOLD OUT! And even D and E are not available in the right size…

That just ruins all the fun of a sale..

*Grumble*

NOTE: alright, alright, I am aware I am grumbling in a privileged situation. It’s all relative.

I’ll stop now.

Finished… September 11, 2011

I finished reading:

The Confession by John Grisham.

Someone is about to be sentenced to death when another man, a convicted criminal, confesses to a priest that he was the one who committed the crime. What can the priest do to prevent the execution, with only two days to go?

Now reading

One Good Turn By Kate Atkinson

Purchased:

Jumping the Queue by Mary Wesley

Finished… August 10, 2011

I finished reading The Chamber by John Grisham.

Great story. Guy has been in jail since the sixties, due to his KKK activities, and is now on death row. His estranged grandson comes to help him as his attorney.

But will he succeed?

Still reading

The Marriage Plot by Eugenides.

Enjoying…

Has anyone seen Mary & Max?

I wonder whether it’s worthwhile purchasing…

Stores June 21, 2011

Stores can be so different!

Two recent store visits showed me the full spectrum of service.

The Disappointment.

I went to the location specifically to visit this store, I walked an extra ten minutes or so, and was enthusiastic to visit and to buy something.

But after asking several questions (and I admit, there were more customers asking questions), I felt that I got the short answers. Such as “Yes”, “No” and “‘Are you going to buy that?”.

If I wanted to respond honestly to their service, I should have walked out of there.  (I didn’t, because they had things I wanted to own) But I did regret taking the trouble to go there in the first place: what a pity!

The Bullseye:

I went to another store thinking I was going to get a certain percentage discount. After the cash register appeared not to be working properly, I offered to kill some time and return after 15 minutes. When I got back, I got full service, an extra product for free because of the wait. And after checking my receipt on the way home, I discovered I received extra double discount! (I fear this was a mistake, it was not advertised, and not offered at the counter) But I was happy!

So this store visit was a great success!! Yay!

Shhht!

…I am now very busy admiring all my purchases…
