A bit of video from the Gasometer, to give an impression of the building.

I had to persuade the Man to go, since he had a nasty cold, but I thought, it won’t be worse in Germany than here.
So off we went, and we have no regrets. We had sun every day!
We enjoyed the luxurious breakfast buffet at the hotel, which always helps to start every day in a good mood.
We went to an exhibition in the Gasometer, an old industrial building, now put to a new use.
I loved the building, and the exhibition, photographs of the wonders of the world “Magische Orte”, was indeed magical.
In the center of the 100 meter building was an enormous tree sculpture. Check out the site to see it.
There was a small elevator on the side of the building, and we went all the way up! (holding on tightly to the railing, but we went!)

My German wasn’t too bad, but when hesitating, people tend to switch to English quite quickly. Schade!
One moment I am busy with the details regarding a birthdaysurprise (think Germany, hotel, dinner, shopping etc), the next moment the birthday boy comes home with a sling. He bumped with his bike into someone who suddenly decided to cross the street, and this sent him flying in the air.
Oh dear.
I guess he won’t be able to drive to Germany in four days…

I have no clue whether they are good, but how bad can it be when it contains vanilla, mocca and chocolate?
The Runaway Jury by John Grisham
According to a certain someone, this is the best Grisham…
This morning, after enjoying a cup of coffee in the sun, I have purchased several books at the Taschen store in Brussels.
They had a sale as of 11:00, with 50-75% discount!
And after that, I had to carry the load on the train, together with my pretty heavy suitcase.
But it was worth it!!
I’m in Brussels now, but I’m too tired to think of much to say other than that it’s great to be here.
the atmosphere on the street is great, lots going on, some football cheer in the streets (no clue who won, Romania?)
Spoke to lots of important people this evening at a fancy dinner (some ate austrich!), and I think my mission is complete here.
p.s. we know the Belgian Frietkot, a small stand that sells fries on the street, but today I have seen for the first time a
Snails stand.

The first part of the trip is 4 hours, including a busdrive, and getting off and on three trains.
No matter which suitcase I take, I think the key phrase will be `travel light`.
